Matthew Palazzolo has been playing cello since he was 5 five years old. Top prizewinner of the UT Knoxville Cello Competition, he has been finalist in several string competitions in the Mid-South area including: The Huntsville Symphony Concerto Competition and Lois Pickard Competition. He was also a finalist for the Delta Symphony Concerto Competition in Mississippi. Most recently, Matthew soloed with the University of Memphis Symphony Orchestra after winning the concerto competition. He currently plays with the University of Memphis Symphony and the Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra and has performed with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. He has maintained a cello studio since 2008, teaching at Lindsay Lane Christian Academy in Alabama and his own private studio. He is currently pursuing a degree in Cello performance at the University of Memphis under the tutelage of Kimberly Patterson.
Joshua Palazzolo started playing the violin at the age of 6. As Grand prizewinner for several competitions, he has soloed with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra in Alabama and the NYSO Orchestra at Vanderbilt University. Joshua was finalist for the University of Memphis Concerto Competition for three consecutive seasons. He performs with numerous orchestras including the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta Chamber orchestra, Memphis Repertory Orchestra, and the Balmoral Chamber Orchestra among others. Joshua maintains a private studio as well, where he enjoys the privilege of shaping young musicians. Joshua has had an extensive teaching career starting in 2008 at the New Song School of Music in Alabama, Lindsay Lane Christian Academy and First Baptist Church of Athens, as well as maintaining a private studio. He recently completed a degree in Violin performance from the University of Memphis, and is currently pursuing his Masters degree from the University of Iowa's School of Music.
Olivia Palazzolo began piano lessons at 5 years old. She started playing the violin at 6 and viola at 14 years of age. Olivia was Prizewinner at the Primrose International Viola Competition in Los Angeles, California. She made her solo debut with the Nashville Symphony and has also soloed with the Huntsville Symphony, Nashville Philharmonic, and the CYS Orchestra. Olivia was Grand Prize winner of the Eunice Hoffmeister Competition and Finalist for the Blount Slawson National Competition. She currently performs with the University of Memphis Symphony Orchestra, the Jackson Symphony Orchestra and the Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra among others. Olivia has taught violin and viola lessons at Lindsay Lane Christian Academy since 2008 and has maintained a private studio. She is currently pursuing a degree in Music and attends the University of Memphis under the tutelage of Lenny Schranze.
The Palazzolo Trio was formed in 2005 as a string chamber music group. They have played for a variety of numerous venus including: weddings, gala events, receptions, funerals and private concerts. They were invited to the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition at Notre Dame in 2012. They also played private concerts for Ball State University’s Music School and Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music. The Trio has had extensive training from Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music, the Innsbrook Institute and have participated in the Gerhart Chamber Music Festival and the Benefic Chamber Music Festival. All three musicians have also coached at the Sforzando String Camp in Chicago. Joshua, Matthew and Olivia as both teachers and performers, desire to give God the glory as they pursue excellence in music.
